Did you see me coming, did you know I would be there

Did you want to find love, did you even care

Or just to belong any place anywhere

Did you know I would break?

No matter the cost

Or did you watch me crawl, hoping someday I’d walk

Did you lie there at night and listen to me sleep

And think of the promises I didn’t keep

Did you feel second best when my dreams came first?

Did you want to drink but took care of my thirst

Did you think of me first and of yourself last

When I couldn’t govern how slow or how fast

I should never have to say
