common thread

Sometimes I have some very sobering moments in a world that at times isn't the most
serene and sensible place.  This world I speak of, is the one in my mind.  Most of my life has been made up of distrust and make-believe, but over time and through tough terrain, I have emerged remarkably unscaved and sane, to some degree, I dare say.  I have seen trembling hands and fright filled eyes.  There were times I was simply looking in the mirror.  I want to say these things so others will know that they are not alone and so that I can continue to reload things I have stored away in my memories and on the pages of my mind.  When you look around and see others moving about, remember, these very same people got up like you did, saw the same sunrise, had the same feelings, and quenched their thirst for whatever,  the same way.  That, my friend, is the common thread that weaves us together as one nation under GOD.  So watch the wind and listen to its song and dance, like a child, every chance you get.  You too have a story to tell and an ending yet to write.
